Wednesday, Aug 30, 2017
Over 50 companies will be exhibiting at the Scotland Pavilion at Offshore Europe next week with the support of Scottish Enterprise, where they will have opportunity to meet and network with over 50,000 industry attendees from across the globe.

For the first time Scottish Enterprise will also be holding a programme of one-to-one sessions  where companies can meet representatives of the enterprise agency’s innovation, investment & company growth teams and learn more about the support available to help them realise their future ambitions.

In addition, Scottish Development International, the international arm of Scotland’s enterprise agencies, is holding a seminar the opportunities for Scotland’s subsea specialists in Japan (Tuesday 6th) and a Scottish Food & Drink reception (Wednesday 6th). A number of meetings have also been set up between members of the Global Scot network and the companies on the Scottish Pavilion.

Speaking ahead of Offshore Europe, David Rennie, Scottish Enterprise’s head of oil & gas, said:

“Offshore Europe remains a key event for the global oil & gas community, and it’s fantastic to be able to support so many of our key companies in the sector to exhibit under the Scotland banner. We’re looking forward to once again helping build new relationships and creating opportunities for our companies to share their knowledge and expertise across the globe. Although of course trading conditions remain challenging, there is some sign of cautious optimism returning and the week will offer an opportunity to showcase our Scottish knowhow and expertise which is world leading. We also look forward to welcoming many guests and friends from throughout the world.”

Scottish Enterprise aims to build on the success of the Scotland Pavilion at Offshore Europe in 2015. The participating companies reported that they made 1065 new UK and international contacts and connections during the event, and grew their existing relationships with a further 345 contacts. In addition, SDI field staff held 144 meeting with companies looking to break into new global markets – leading to over 100 potential international opportunities for companies.
